i loved that movie. i cried so much. what unimagineably horrible things we do in the name of bettering ourselves or others. i saw it with katie and her husband (an aussie).
When I was a kid I used to wish people would take me away from my family, it would have been like being rescued from the raging house of stupidity. I would have been forced to deny my heritige, change my name (I was hoping maybe "Flash") and I would be able to eat hamburgers and ice cream whenever I wanted (no more seaweed stew!). Now in hindsight I think I'm pretty glad that it never happened like that.
